Seeding and Qualifying Level 2018

 

WHO CAN ENTER?

The APP Awards are open to all Australian professional, emerging and student photographers who are

- seeded; or
- have qualified; or
- are wildcard recipients; or
- have been directly invited.

The Awards are also open to international professional photographers (conditions apply).

WHO IS A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER?

A professional photographer for the purposes of these Awards, includes:

- an AIPP Accredited Professional Photographer, or
- a photographer who earns (or has earnt in one of the past three years) more than AUS $20,000 per annum from the profession of photography.

Emerging photographers are Emerging Members of the AIPP.

Students must be currently enrolled and studying photography at an approved tertiary institute within Australia.

WHO IS SEEDED?

Seeded photographers include all AIPP accredited members and professionals who have achieved one silver award or more that earned a merit point at APPA in the last five years, or have achieved Associate, Master of Photography or Grand Master of Photography status. If you are unsure if you are seeded please email events@aipp.com.au .

WHO IS QUALIFIED?

If you are not seeded, you can ‘qualify’ by first entering the AIPP Epson State Print Awards in the same year and earning at least two scores of 80 or higher. For APPA, you can choose to enter the same entries or completely different entries. If you are unsure if you have qualified you can check your results on www.aippawards.com or email admin@aipp.com.au

WILDCARD ENTRIES

If you are not seeded or qualified due to special circumstances, you can apply for a wildcard entry. Special circumstances may include:

- Illness – preventing you from entering your state awards.
- Financial hardship.

Wildcard requests must be submitted in writing to admin@aipp.com.au by 5.00 p.m., 28 July 2018.

MEMBER OF RECIPROCAL OVERSEAS ORGANISATION

Members of reciprocal rights organisations such as NZIPP can earn award points towards AIPP Honours (Associate, Master of Photography, Grand Master of Photography). They are eligible to win the Highest Scoring Print Award and Overseas Professional Photographer of the Year Award, but not a category award.
